Description Prime Source Foods, the Northeast's premier independent food distributor, is seeking a reliable and professional CDL Class A Driver to join our team in East Windsor, CT. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced driver to contribute to a leading organization dedicated to quality service and customer satisfaction. TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Drive company-owned commercial vehicle locally to deliver meats and provisions to restaurants, markets, and warehouses in the New England region. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers, adhering to scheduled routes and delivery times. Load and unload products from the vehicle, ensuring they are handled with care to prevent damage and maintain quality. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, including routine checks to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. Verify the accuracy of delivery orders against invoices and report any discrepancies to the logistics manager. Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding delivery operations and safety protocols. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with company and regulatory standards. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, management, and customers to ensure smooth delivery operations. Provide excellent customer service by addressing any questions or concerns from customers during deliveries. Follow all traffic laws and regulations to ensure the safety of oneself and others on the road. Report any unsafe delivery conditions and maintain a satisfactory unload rate, maintain satisfactory smart drive score, uphold 5S standards of truck organization and cleanliness Report any vehicle maintenance needs, temperature, or delivery challenges to the appropriate department promptly. Process collections of money and credit returns. Assist teammate drivers as may be required to meet order fulfillment. Comply with all Food Safety Guidelines. Temperature reporting Avoid roadside inspection violations (which affect PSP and SMS Scores). Provide Quality Customer Service Drive other routes as may be assigned from time to time. Must be authorized to work in the U.S., as we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship. Must be flexible and able to work up to 24 hours, Mondays and Thursdays, starting at 5 AM until the completion of work. Must be 18 years of age or older. Driver must be able to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly throughout the day using a 2-wheeler (dolly) loaded with several hundred lbs., Deliveries are made in all weather conditions throughout the year (snow, ice, rain, heat, wind, etc.), and may involve stairs on occasion.
