Job Description CEDA is currently seeking a 1 Class DZ Driver/Operator for Pressure & Vacuum at our Nanticoke, Ontario location. No accommodation or travel will be provided. What We Offer: Permanent full time offering 40 hours per week $25 - $29 per hour with an annual increase on March 1 Benefits and pension through International Union of Operating Engineers - Local 793 after 1040 hours worked Skill development and opportunity for growth Opportunity to learn and gain experience on all pieces of equipment like vacuum trucks, high pressure/water trucks, combo units and various specialty tools Variety: changing work scopes from one day to the next – there is always a new challenge Be a part of a true team. Our work is difficult but we get it done safely, with great people Key Duties & Responsibilities: Operate and maintain vacuum trucks, high pressure/water trucks, combo units, other equipment as required and various specialty tools Depending on our client’s request there could also be opportunities to operate other equipment outside of our industrial cleaning equipment. 90% of your day is outside of the truck, boots on the ground Proficient in driving manual transmissions Work safely at heights up to 100 meters in a labor intensive capacity Climb safely into small vessels and tanks with industrial cleaning equipment – our experienced crew has your back Ensure safety for all team members and property Work as part of a team and follow direction from supervision Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions Learn new skills every day by rigging in and out specialty equipment Complete required paperwork for unit pre-trip, inspections, job reports and safety documents Challenge your eye for detail, practice what we preach. Take your time, get the job done right the first time and safely every time Provide guidance to Laborers as required Strictly observe and enforce all company and client safety requirements Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Valid Class DZ license with no more than 5 demerits in the last 3 years is required Driving is in your nature, then passing CEDA’s Driver Assessment in a manual transmission will be a breeze (10, 13 speed, 18) Experience with Fluid Hauling, Vacuum and High Pressure experience in an industrial environment is an asset Experience in an industrial environment is an asset Exposure/familiarity with Imperial Oil’s loss prevention system is an asset Able to provide a negative result on a pre-employment drug and alcohol test Able to travel throughout Region, and be available for on call (flexibility in scheduling is required) Reliable transportation to site is required Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude Very comfortable with manual transmissions Safety focused when it comes to people and equipment Perform physically demanding work including climbing multiple flights of stairs and carrying equipment (able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis) Comfortable with the use of additional respiratory equipment and air supply; wearing a full face mask and carrying your own source of oxygen Enjoy working outdoors the majority of the time in varied weather conditions Additional Information The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
