Spencer Lane-Jones Ltd is a well-established Bristol Motor car specialist based in Warminster, Wiltshire. We provide servicing, renovation and other associated services to classic, veteran and sports car owners throughout Europe. We are looking to expand our services to cover the retrimming of classic, veteran and sports cars.

SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled trimmer/upholsterer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for craftsmanship, a keen eye for detail and a proven background within the automotive trimming sector. This key person will be wholly responsible for the restoration of all aspects of interior and exterior trim on classic, vintage and sports cars. You will expected to work in a workshop environment, demonstrate high levels of finish and be comfortable to work independently or as part of a team on various projects.

• Re-trim classic car interiors according to manufacturer’s specifications and customers’ requirements.
• Cut, sew and apply upholstery materials to interior substructures using approved techniques.
• Remaking/repairing of basic wood substructures.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete upholstery tasks.
• Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring that all tools and materials are stored correctly.
• Sourcing and ordering of materials from suppliers.
• Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines whilst maintaining quality standards.
• Experience
• Previous experience in vehicle upholstery is mandatory, but project guidance will be provided.
• The ability to troubleshoot issues that may arise during the trimming process.
• Familiarity with workshop operations and safety protocols is mandatory.
• A keen attention to detail and a commitment to producing high quality workmanship.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
  Successful candidates will be required to show examples of their previous work and be able to provide relevant previous employment history along with references.
