Description

The Children’s Dance Conservatory is seeking a dedicated and experienced Ballet Instructor to join our teaching team for the 2025–2026 school year. We specialize in high-quality classical ballet training and are committed to nurturing creativity, discipline, and joy in young dancers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ballet pedagogy, be familiar with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus, and have a passion for teaching children ages 9–17.

Responsibilities

  • Teach weekly ballet classes in accordance with the Conservatory’s standards and RAD methodology.
  • Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that encourage technical growth and artistic expression.
  • Prepare students for assessments, performances, and possible RAD examinations.
  • Foster a supportive, respectful, and inspiring classroom environment.
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff to support student progress.
  • Maintain a clean and organized studio space.
  • Stay current with developments in ballet pedagogy and best practices in dance education.

Schedule

Classes begin in Fall 2025 (September 8 to June 14. Instructors must be available to teach at least two weekly classes, with options to take on additional classes as scheduling allows:

  • Required:
  • Wednesdays, 4-8 pm
  • Saturdays , 11:30 - 1:00 pm

Qualifications

  • Proven experience teaching ballet to children ages 9-17 years old
  • Familiarity with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus required.
  • Strong classroom management skills and ability to adapt teaching to different learning styles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a positive, encouraging, and disciplined learning environment.
  • Experience preparing students for performances and exams (preferred).
