POSITION SUMMARY The Classroom Aide at CHCCAA plays a crucial role in advancing our mission to expand opportunities and build self-sufficiency for our community members. This position supports the Head Start Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. The role involves providing supplies materials and support for the classroom, and maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere. The ideal candidate will use their skills to embody our values and contribute to our vision of a thriving, self-sufficient community. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  Functional Responsibilities: * Support teaching staff by fulfilling requests for supplies needed in the classroom; order supplies as needed.  * Inspect incoming materials for conformity to purchase order specifications; reports shortages, damage, or other discrepancies; provides packaging and logging materials to manager.  * In coordination with teaching staff, rotate items in the classroom to help promote literacy.  * Perform scheduled checks of first aid kits and refill as needed.  * Maintain accurate records to reflect quantity, type and value of materials, equipment, merchandise and supplies in the designated storage room.  * Provide coverage for breaks as needed in the classroom.  * Assist in periodic and annual inventories.  The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of the work being performed by staff assigned to this job classification.
