POSITION SUMMARY:

The classroom assistant will support the lead teacher in providing a positive and enriching learning environment for students. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with the teaching team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in education or related field preferred.
  2. Previous experience working with children in a classroom setting preferred.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Ability to work well in a team environment.
  5. A positive and patient attitude towards children.
  6. Knowledge of child development and educational best practices.
  7. Ability to pass a background check.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Ability to stand, walk, and move around the classroom for extended periods of time.
  2. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  3. Ability to bend, stoop, and reach to interact with students and classroom materials.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities.
  2. Support individual students with their learning, including providing one-on-one assistance as needed.
  3. Supervise students during instructional time, transitions, and outdoor activities.
  4. Help maintain a safe and clean classroom environment.
  5. Communicate effectively with parents, students, and other staff members.
  6. Assist with classroom management and behavior guidance.
  7. Collaborate with the lead teacher to assess student progress and provide feedback.
  8. Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions as required.
