Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:
The classroom assistant will support the lead teacher in providing a positive and enriching learning environment for students. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with the teaching team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in education or related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in a classroom setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- A positive and patient attitude towards children.
- Knowledge of child development and educational best practices.
- Ability to pass a background check.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the classroom for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach to interact with students and classroom materials.

Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities.
- Support individual students with their learning, including providing one-on-one assistance as needed.
- Supervise students during instructional time, transitions, and outdoor activities.
- Help maintain a safe and clean classroom environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents, students, and other staff members.
- Assist with classroom management and behavior guidance.
- Collaborate with the lead teacher to assess student progress and provide feedback.
- Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions as required.
