Our Academic Model Our academic model is unique and creates a very different and exciting place to work. We provide diverse types of learning experiences such as Socratic seminars, small group instruction, hands-on labs and collaborative student projects. Team teaching is core to our model. All math, ELA and Spanish teachers teach in teams where they plan together and work with students in larger spaces. Teachers in other subjects are expected to plan collaboratively and often co-teach to support our special education and ESL students. We use technology to personalize learning and to help students make deeper connections to content. As a result of this structure, teachers are able to better assess and meet individual student needs. The Role of the Classroom Learning Assistant A Classroom Learning Assistant serves as an advocate for the needs of the diverse learning population. The learning assistant supports a classroom and works alongside a teacher to ensure that both the social-emotional and academic needs of each student are being met. Classroom learning assistants will receive support and coaching similar to teachers and will have the opportunity to be considered for support and tuition reimbursement to become full-time special education teachers. This person will: Assist teacher in implementing lesson plans in a classroom by providing positive learning experiences, including large or small group instruction and one-on-one support Prepare materials and resources for use in the classroom that support students’ learning goals Assist with the maintenance of records of student needs, instructional programs, student progress, preparation of forms, organizing and maintaining files Qualifications Bachelor's Degree required Spanish fluency preferred Experience working with high school and middle school students Comfort with all levels of math Substitute teaching license preferred Compensation and Benefits $42,000- $50,000/ year based on experience Health insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield Dental, vision, short and long term disability 401K/pension with employer match Mental Health benefits Equal Opportunity Employer Intrinsic Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
