Classroom Management Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students Understand the responsibility of being a mandated child abuse/neglect reporter according to PA State Law Supervise all activities to ensure safety at all times Maintain a neat and orderly classroom by straightening chairs and tables, cleaning chalkboard at the end of the day, and making sure all items are left as they were in the beginning of the day Take attendance in accordance with district procedures Indicate to students at the beginning of class the basic expectations for behavior in the class in accordance with school district policies Ensure that students are never left unattended in the classroom or put in an unsafe situation Lesson Delivery Oversee delivery pre-planned lessons and activities as guided by teacher notes Monitor students during silent study and independent learning Collect and maintain completed work and notes on student progress (Lesson creation, delivery and grading not included) School Presence Report to school office at the beginning of the school day to sign in and pick up required materials/schedule of classes Report to the school office at the end of the school day to return materials and follow sign out procedures as prescribed by school office administration Be open to performing duties usually required of regular classroom teacher in his or her absence, such as lunchroom duty, hall monitoring, etc. Know emergency evacuation routes for the classrooms assigned Know procedures for referring students who are disciplinary problems Maintain a professional attitude and loyalty to the organization at all times Other duties as directed by the Ignite administrative team and/or school district administration What are the required qualifications? At least 60 earned credits from an accredited college or university At least 25 years of age Completion of training program with IU08 Classroom Monitor certificate processed via LEA Other: Appropriate clearances and trainings: PA State Criminal History Record, Child Abuse Report, FBI Criminal History Report, and Mandated Reporter Trainings. Clearances must be kept current. Physical and Drug Test (where applicable) done within one year prior to start date TB test within three months prior to start date What are the physical requirements? Ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 40 pounds on a regular basis. Responsibilities
