POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary function of this position is to provide cleaning services in the school, agency, and residence housing children and staff, as well as fulfilling laundry duties as required.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:

  • Grade 12 education required
  • One year experience in cleaning and institutional laundry, experience in the proper use of solvents, detergents and cleaning agents

Responsibilities

According to cleaning schedule:

  • Sweeps, mops, vacuums floors
  • Cleans windows, mirrors and furniture
  • Cleans cupboards, shelves, drawers, counters, shelves, cupboards, dishwasher, refrigerator, stove, oven and carts
  • Cleans and sanitizes kitchen and bathroom appliances
  • Checks supplies and completes orders
  • Defrosts and cleans all freezers and refrigerators
  • Sanitizes complete bed when client discharged
  • Cleans cottage windows excluding outside upper-level windows
  • Operates washer and dryer, if needed
  • Disinfects personal items
  • Washes curtains
  • Complies with Occupational Health and Safety Act, specifically section 28(1) and (2) regarding duties of workers
