Cleaning Chargehand – George Watson’s College, Edinburgh
Position: Cleaning Chargehand
Location: George Watson’s College, 67-71 Colinton Road, Edinburgh, EH10 5EG
Pay: £13.00 per hour
Hours: 37 per week
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7am–3pm | Friday, 7am–2:30pm

• To lead daily deep cleans
• Lead, train, and support cleaning staff, ensuring high standards of work and compliance with safety protocols.
• Allocate tasks, create staff rotas, and manage absences, sickness, and holiday cover.
• Monitor stock levels, control usage of cleaning materials, and report supply needs.
• Conduct regular inspections, quality checks, and monthly safety walks.
• Maintain safe working practices, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, and company policies.
• Liaise with maintenance and other departments to resolve issues quickly.
• Handle administration, including scheduling, performance monitoring, and reporting to management.
• Deliver excellent customer service, responding promptly to concerns from staff, students, and visitors.
• Ensure equipment is maintained, serviced, and used safely.
• Support training needs, team meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Step in to cover operational needs during holidays, sickness, or special requests
