About Cleaning Services The NSW Government’s reforms to public sector cleaning services entail the NSW Department of Education taking over management of the state’s Whole-of-Government cleaning contracts from January 1, 2026. A team has been established to deliver an enhanced Whole-of-Government cleaning contract for alignment and delivery of all program streams. Including Governance, ITD, Recruitment and Risk Management. About the role This role offers the chance to support high‑quality, customer‑focused cleaning services across a rural region, covering multiple schools and government sites spread over a large geographic area. As the Cleaning Services Senior Officer, you will coordinate scheduled and emergency cleaning, maintain accurate contractor and service records, and help ensure that cleaning services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with operational priorities. You’ll work closely with principals, school staff, and contractors to resolve issues, support onboarding, and contribute to continuous improvement across the cleaning service portfolio. The ideal candidate will have: Strong organisational skills, with the ability to schedule and track cleaning services across multiple locations and respond to urgent needs. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, enabling productive relationships with principals, school staff, contractors, and internal teams. Confidence in maintaining contractor records, updating systems, and supporting onboarding and induction processes. A practical understanding of service delivery monitoring, issue resolution, and compliance requirements within structured performance frameworks. A commitment to safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement in all aspects of cleaning service coordination and customer service.
