This hands-on position is ideal for an individual who enjoys working on a variety of technical tasks simultaneously in support of our manufacturing partners. Primary duties include system administration, making physical connections of OT to specialized networks, and performing cyber liaison work. Other duties may include implementing, supporting, upgrading, optimizing, testing, and extending complex custom and COTS manufacturing systems. Furthermore, this position is ideal for an individual that is interested in gaining expertise in the IT/OT manufacturing domains involving IIOT smart manufacturing software to assess machine performance and health, manufacturing execution systems (MES) COTS software; and working with Oracle ERP manufacturing systems.

On any given day, duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Physically connect previously stand-alone OT, that may be in remote locations on KAFB, to specialized networks.
  • Perform as a center cyber assurance liaison which involves creating and renewing 3SP cyber security plans for stand-alone equipment, performing cyber assessments, and consulting on cyber best practices.
  • Perform system administration work, which includes supporting various software applications.
  • Collaborate with others in the department and across the CIO organization to support the smart manufacturing IIOT and MES software implementation and support initiatives.
  • Write programs to automate tasks by reducing or eliminating manual processes and data entry.
  • As needed, develop data integration and messaging solutions to/from Sandia’s Oracle ERP system.
  • Assist in the governance and stewardship of center data.
  • Develop and cultivate trust-based relationships with our corporate CIO partners and organizations internal and external to Sandia.
  • Participate in digital thread and model-based engineering initiatives.

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant will be required to work on-site in Albuquerque, NM.

QUALIFICATIONS WE DESIRE

  • Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, management information systems, computer engineering, or another relevant STEM field.
