Amentum is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team of passionate individuals in Annapolis Junction, MD. In this role you will support challenging, mission-critical projects that make a direct impact on the Nation’s security and intelligence mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Software Engineer will develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop responsive, high-performance web applications using React and Next.js
• Implement server-side rendering (SSR), static site generation (SSG), and dynamic routing with Next.js
• Review and test software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results
• Resolve software problem reports
• Provide specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components
• Collaborate with backend developers to deliver cohesive, scalable solutions
• Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and SEO
• Integrate RESTful APIs
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to front-end architecture decisions with Senior Front End Engineer
