Responsibilities

WHAT’S INVOLVED WITH THIS ROLE:

As a Clerical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing front-of-house reception and general business support in a busy Children’s Services environment. You will act as the first point of contact for staff, visitors, and external callers, while also carrying out administrative duties to support the smooth operation of the team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Welcome and sign in visitors to the building, ensuring a friendly and professional front-of-house service
  • Operate the main reception phone line, redirecting calls and taking accurate messages
  • Liaise with internal staff, external professionals, and members of the public in person and via telephone
  • Provide administrative support such as data entry, photocopying, scanning, filing, and document preparation
  • Use Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, Outlook) to complete routine administrative tasks
  • Maintain meeting room bookings and support meeting setup where required
  • Ensure visitor protocols and safeguarding requirements are followed at all times
  • Maintain confidentiality and data protection standards in handling sensitive information
