Provides effective verbal, written and electronic communications by receiving and passing on clear messages and seeking assistance when needed. Acts as first point of contact for clinical area, dealing appropriately with all communications and tasks allocated, including sensitive issues. Liaises with patients, relatives and visitors providing directions and information as required. Also obtaining the appropriate support when needed from the Multidisciplinary Team.
Maintain and photocopy records, prepare forms and make appointments as requested, this may include organising transport arrangements, ensuring that the information given is accurate and up to date. Prepares and checks patients records completing the relevant documentation as instructed, filing reports and storing in correct place. Liaises with the Multidisciplinary Team assisting in following up procedures and practice. Requesting and obtaining investigation reports informing staff of the results.
Receives and processes mail and specimens, delivering to the correct place and carrying out errands between Departments. Maintain stationary stock levels needed this includes ordering, receiving and checking deliveries are accurate and reporting discrepancies. Deal with enquiries and direct appropriately to the most appropriate person/location. Establish and maintain an effective filing system.
