  Clerical Office Assistant Starting Location: Half time at Family Health Centre half time at Steeleville Part Time: 36 hours per pay period. Hours & Days may vary.  * Past experience in a physician’s office preferred.  * Knowledge of basic office equipment to include computer and scanner skills.   * ICD-10 & CPT coding knowledge preferred.  * Ability to adapt to a fast paced environment and be a team player who is willing to adopt our “Standards of Behavior”. *Please note that Sparta Community Hospital owns multiple physician clinics in Sparta, Coulterville, Steeleville and Marissa.   Scheduled hours and work location of all clinic employees are subject to change according to Management needs/discretion and/or provider changes. Purpose/Position Summary: * Perform clerical duties using specific knowledge of medical terminology and hospital, clinic, or laboratory procedures.  * Duties may include scheduling appointments, compiling and recording information in medical charts, correspondence, accurate and thorough documentation, billing knowledge and coding information for insurance purposes, collecting and entering accurate information in the patient’s financial and medical records, entering charges in the billing system, collecting co-pays and past due balances.
