Position Title: Clerk, Accounting Location: Toronto, ON Reports To: Accounting Supervisor I. Scope and Summary of Primary Responsibilities Performs a variety of accounting activities related to the management of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable including maintaining accurate and timely A/R and A/P records, analysing and resolving aged receivables / payables. II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The position entails, but is not limited to the following general responsibilities: * Gathers information from different sources, verifying the detailed information needed for the preparation of invoices, sales orders, order confirmations, debit notes and credit notes. * Records invoices, sales orders, debit notes and credit notes in the NetSuite accounting system. * Apply payments and other offsets against customer records. * Maintains accounts receivable/payable records through filing, retrieval, retention, storage, and compilation of documents. * Provides support to the accounting department and performs other accounting tasks and projects as assigned. * Process invoices, payments and expense reports * Provides support to the accounting department and performs other accounting tasks and projects as assigned. III. Qualifications Knowledge and Skill Requirements * Microsoft Excel and word processing are required * Strong Communication skills * Must be detail-oriented, and well-organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously * Ability to work independently. Experience and Education * Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or business administration, or equivalent experience.
