Customer Service Specialist 3165 N. McMullen Booth Rd., Bld. B. Clearwater, FL 33761 This position requires a people oriented individual with excellent customer service skills and experience handling difficult customers. This position is a customer service oriented and involves heavy communication with the public, attorneys and other government agencies both in person and on the phone. Excellent customer skills are essential in this position. The ability to interact well with others and perform in a team environment is highly desired. What Would You Do? Performs cashiering work by entering transactions into computerized registers, receiving monies, making change and balancing the register daily. Performs specific traffic court related functions such as scheduling not guilty pleas, processing after court work, recalling warrants and reinstating driver licenses. Receives and accepts filings of various legal papers. Intakes and processes new cases for Civil Court records, Processes Marchman, Backer Act and Deposit Wills for Probate, processes passport applications, marriage license and ceremonies. Provide accurate, clear and concise information to internal and external customers, attorneys, defendants, and the general public on the telephone and in person. Additional duties include refunds, corrections, working computer generated reports and providing excellent customer service. Performs related work as assigned or required. What Do You Need To Have? 2 years experience in cashiering or accounting and practical skills in the use of computer equipment. Associate’s or higher-level degree in accounting or a financial related field. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations. Highly Desirable Knowledge of automated office equipment, practices and procedures. Skilled in the application of quality customer service. Skilled in the operation of automated office equipment Ability to make and apply decisions in accordance with laws, regulations and procedures. Ability to analyze accounts, perform computations and prepare related documents. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and to express oneself clearly and concisely, orally and in writing. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of the principles of cashiering, governmental accounting and record keeping procedures pertinent to the area of assignment. Ability to comprehend and adhere to the Florida Statutes, Rules of Court and regulations pertinent to area of assignment.
