Job Summary This clerk will be responsible for district child find obligations which include conducting a parent interview, scheduling, and obtaining documents from community providers. What you will do Communicating with families, community members, and district staff regarding early childhood exceptional education evaluations. Working with families to collect referral information through a parent/caregiver interview and follow up by obtaining releases of information to send to community providers requesting previous therapy and progress notes, medical information, and psychological, speech-language, feeding, occupational, physical, behavioral evaluations. Inputting information into and uploading documents to Microsoft SharePoint for referrals to create digital student files assigned to the appropriate early childhood intake team by school of zone. To read and make revisions to an excel master spreadsheet to forward student cumulative school files to the appropriate and needed location. Preparing and facilitating early childhood screenings for the district. This will require managing a spreadsheet and scheduling for five different early childhood assessment sites. Assisting with TDOE and IDEA compliance which may include creating prior written notices to families. Collaborating within the department of Exceptional Education to perform various clerical support. Maintaining child find student database. Education Qualifications Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and three years varied and increasingly responsible experience in keeping or reviewing student educational records Required Skills and Abilities Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning student files; excellent interpersonal skills; team player; effective verbal and listening, communications skills; demonstrate sound work ethics; respectful, honest and trustworthy. (High proficiency) Ability to perform office work with speed and accuracy, establish and maintain effective working relationships, great customer service, and Knowledge of departmental methods and procedures; practices and terminology used in record keeping work. (Medium proficiency) Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
