Salary: The salary range for this position is CAD $27.10/Hr. - CAD $27.10/Hr.
Summary:
The Rapid Access Addiction Clinic (RAAC) is now accepting applications for casual Clerks to join their team. RAAC is a low-barrier outpatient clinic providing consultation and stabilization for individuals with substance use disorder or reliance including alcohol, stimulant and opiate use disorders, staffed by an interdisciplinary team that includes physicians, nurses and social workers that provide comprehensive assessment and care for those seeking support around their substance use.
Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, performs a variety of related clerical and secretarial duties in a mental health clinical setting with patients with mental health illness or substance use issues such as booking and scheduling outpatient appointments, patient registration, drafting routine correspondence, typing a variety of materials, performing reception duties including directing patients and visitors, answering the telephone and relaying messages. Maintains departmental filing systems and policy and procedure manuals and prepares monthly reports. Arranges meetings as directed, and transcribes minutes or notes.
EDUCATION
- Grade 12, plus two years’ recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to keyboard at 40 w.p.m.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.

Responsibilities:
- Appointment Coordination & Patient Flow: Schedule, adjust, and confirm outpatient appointments while coordinating patient flow through the program, ensuring accurate documentation and communication with staff.
- Patient Registration & Documentation: Register patients, gather required information, and maintain accurate patient files by completing, updating, and managing necessary forms, consents, and computerized databases.
- Administrative Support: Perform reception duties, draft routine correspondence, maintain filing systems, and arrange meetings, including preparing agendas and transcribing minutes.
- Reporting & Record Management: Prepare monthly reports, statistics, billing forms, and maintain departmental policies and procedure manuals as directed.
