Please visit our website: www.turnerandtownsend.com Job Description Your responsibilities: Quality Assurance: Monitor workmanship on site to ensure construction meets required standards, specifications, and approved drawings. Coordinate with project consultants and contractors on all matters relating to builders work installation and performance on site Finishes & Visual Quality - Retail requires high visual standards; conduct detailed inspections of joinery, tiles, glass, paint, and lighting alignment to ensure a premium customer‑facing look. As such to document any findings, track CDP and consultant action to address with the project period Site Inspections: Conduct regular inspections across all stages of construction, identifying defects, poor‑quality work, or deviations from plans. 100% full time working in site office, will be conducted at nights and Weekends works Store Opening Readiness - Support pre‑opening checks, ensure operational readiness, and confirm that all defects are resolved prior to merchandising and handover. Compliance Checking: Ensure works comply with building regulations, contract documents, safety requirements, and industry best practice. Record Keeping: Maintain detailed site records, including daily logs, photos, progress notes, and reports of any issues or delays. Reporting & Communication: Report concerns, non‑compliances, or risks to the project manager, consultants, and contractor, providing clear recommendations. To prepare quality reports for review and provide improvement statements. Progress Monitoring: Track construction progress against programme, flag delays, and verify that work is completed before sign‑off. Fast‑Track Coordination - Retail works often run on compressed timelines — monitor tight sequencing to avoid delays, especially around merchandising and store opening commitments. Material Verification: Check quality, condition, and installation of materials to ensure they match specifications and are stored correctly. Testing & Inspections Coordination: Witness tests (e.g., concrete cube tests, MEP commissioning) and verify results meet standards. Track Consultant attendance and follow up Ensure contractors preparation and pre-tests have been completed Health & Safety Oversight: Observe site safety practices and raise issues to the appropriate safety representatives. Review and comment on Method Statements and risk Assessment Direct / Escalation any safety issues or behaviours in line with standards Defects Management: Identify defects, follow up on rectification, and participate in inspections during handover and the defects liability period. To liaise with contractors for execution of rectification.
