Description
ESF Centre is recruiting for a clerk of works, who will be responsible for site management, supervision and coordination of alteration and addition (A & A) works and fitting out projects. This roles will also be accountable for quality control and safety supervision, including conducting site inspections in accordance with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and monitoring hold points within work processes. As well as operate digital quality system to ensure compliance, efficiency and continuous improvement across project delivery. Main Accountabilities Provide technical input during the pre-construction phase, recommending construction methodologies, assessing constructability and advising on site logistics and planning; Supervise contractors’ site management, planning and construction activities during construction phase to ensure alignment with project requirements and schedules; Monitor all site activities to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards; Manage the quality inspection process, conducting materials and workmanship inspections and signoff in conjunction with project management and design team members; Enforce construction site safety standards and ensure adherence to statutory and organisational requirements; Prepare and deliver regular site progress reports to Project Manager, highlighting key issues, risks and milestones; Participate in site meetings, including coordination meetings with project management and design team members, main contractors, sub-contractors, specialist contractors and direct contractors; Represent ESF on site to safeguard quality, progress and safety in collaboration with the project management and design team members and contractors; Communicate and coordinate with school stakeholders and end- users to address operational needs and minimise disruption; Implement project cost control system on site, particularly related to design changes, abortive works and variations; Make recommendations to Project Manager for design changes and identifying any foreseeable implication; Maintain full and proper records for changes in order to facilitate the assessment on variations and claims for extension of time; Assist in project close out and handover phase, including defect identification, resolution and final acceptance. Requirements Abilities: Ability to work under pressure and meet aggressive deadlines Ability to follow established standards Proficiency in basic spoken English for workplace communication and Cantonese (desirable) Excellent interpersonal skills Excellent organisational skills Knowledge: Applies good understanding of HKSAR building codes and standards. Applies good knowledge of local construction practice and safety rules. Applies good planning and management skills. Education and Experience: Degree / Diploma in relevant technical subject Above 10 years relevant post graduate and on-site experience in contractor, preferably with on-site experience in client / consultant Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and offers may be extended prior to the job closing date.
