This role supports front office operations, patient scheduling, medical records coordination, and financial transactions while ensuring a positive patient experience.   Reports to: Office Manager   FLSA: Non-Exempt   Minimum Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred Experience: Knowledge and experience with computers, coding, and medical terminology preferred   Required Skills: * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Excellent customer service skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment * Strong problem-solving skills * Ability to handle stress in a positive manner   Essential Functions: * Carries out front office activities in a kind and courteous manner * Assists customers and their families effectively * Notifies Office Manager of customer complaints in a timely manner * Gathers and updates patient demographic information in the system * Communicates delays and offers alternatives to waiting patients * Manages telephone communication and documents messages * Coordinates EMR/medical record activities * Collects and posts payments while ensuring security of funds * Schedules patients and manages appointment flow * Verifies insurance eligibility and obtains prior authorizations * Reviews patient accounts and collects balances due * Performs appointment reminder calls * Completes required in-services and training * Participates in patient satisfaction improvement initiatives * Makes referrals to other medical team members as needed   Functional Demands: * Standing, sitting, walking, and bending required * May require stair climbing * Clear communication in person and by phone * Adequate hearing and vision required * Exposure to potentially stressful or hazardous situations * Ability to read, write, prioritize tasks, and manage stress effectively   EEOC Statement: Meadowview Regional Medical Center is committed to providing Equal Employment Opportunities for all applicants and employees and complies with all applicable laws prohibiting discrimination against any employee or applicant for employment because of color, race, sex, age, religion, national origin, disability, genetic information, gender identity, sexual orientation, veterans' status or any other basis protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
