Job Description Performs general clerical and receptionist duties supporting the patient care unit, including preparing, compiling and maintaining records in nursing unit. Job Responsibility   * * Greets, interviews and registers patients or their representative. * Verifies patient, guarantor, subscriber and insurance information and enters same into department computer system. * Completes required forms for patient registration. * Obtains, secures and witnesses required consents/signatures. * Provides information regarding Advance Directives, Patient Bill of Rights and Notice of Privacy Practices. Completes questionnaire regarding Advance Directives for the patient's medical record. * Attaches vouchers to lab specimens and arranges transport to lab, as required. * Performs final chart review, incorporates loose sheets and ensures that the entire chart assembly is completed on discharge. * Facilitates patient transfers to Emergency department, as required. * Answers phones courteously, responds to requests for information, directs calls or takes messages, files, photocopies, faxes information, maintains bulletin boards, etc. * Performs receptionist duties for clinic. Reviews and maintains daily attendance log. Informs clinical team member of pending appointments * Photocopies and maintains supply of pertinent forms specific to unit. * Reports all equipment needing repair and initiates work orders. * Performs related duties as required. *ADA Essential Functions   Job Qualification   * High School Diploma or equivalent, required. * Minimum of one (1) year related registration/clerical experience with public contact, required. * Typing 35 wpm, required. * Good interpersonal skills to deal courteously with patients, families, physicians and all levels of hospital personnel, required. *Additional Salary Detail  The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
