Your Opportunity:
Under the direction of the Manager of the Fort McMurray Recovery Centre, Supervisor or Charge Nurse, the successful candidate provides basic and supportive care to clients who access bed-based addiction services in Fort McMurray. The successful candidate will also provide 24/7 general support to clients who are attending the Program. Other aspects of the position include crisis intervention, housekeeping duties, recreational activities facilitation, and client transportation in the fleet vehicle. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
Description:

As a Client Care Assistant, you will work as a team member with all staff assisting in the provision of supportive care to clients with addictions. Your primary duties include providing supportive care to clients, ensuring a safe and secure facility, responding to client requests, communicating effectively with other staff and contributing to a therapeutic environment through interaction with clients. As part of an interprofessional team, you will contribute to the delivery of residential services to persons with an addiction promoting client respect, autonomy, health and improved quality of life. You will support clients to participate in activities of daily living, recreational and social activities, and educational and employment activities. You will also work collaboratively with other health and service providers to maintain a safe and supportive environment.
