SKILLS AND BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on empathy and customer service
  • Ability to multitask in a busy stimulating (sometimes loud) environment
  • Work effectively as a team or on their own, with or without supervision
  • Graduates of an approved Veterinary Assisting or Veterinary Office Assistant diploma program and animal healthcare background preferred
  • Previous veterinary clinic experience preferred
  • Previous client service/client care related experience required
  • Existing knowledge of medical terminology and veterinary computer software systems (Avimark) an asset
    Job Type: Part-time
    Pay: $15.70-$17.00 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Creating a warm and welcome environment by providing exceptional client care services in person, over the phone and through e-mail
  • Triaging the need for emergent care
  • Administrative duties such as scheduling, follow-ups on appointments, reminder calls, email inquiries, insurance claims, faxing, and the like
  • Effective internal communication between clients and veterinary staff members
  • Keeping a clean environment and re-stocking of supplies
