About the job: The Client Finance Manager serves as the primary financial point of contact between the company and its clients. This role is responsible for managing client budgets, driving profitability, overseeing billing and collections, and delivering strategic financial insights to both internal stakeholders and clients. Additionally, the Client Finance Manager will provide guidance and leadership to the Finance Assistant, supporting their development and day-to-day activities.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent), with proven accountancy experience in a SME.
  • Verified track record in producing high-quality management accounts and financial reports.
  • Solid understanding of VAT rules, financial compliance and UK accounting standards.
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills, with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
  • Previous experience managing or mentoring junior staff is desirable.
  • Competent user of Excel and accounting software (e.g. Sage 50).
    Location: Ecovision, Pure Offices, Quedgeley, Gloucester. Commutable to the Head Office in Quedgeley, Gloucestershire. There may be some hybrid work with prior agreement from the Line Manager.
    Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
    Salary: £50,000 per annum.
Responsibilities

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the end-to-end financial operations for a portfolio of clients, ensuring high standards of accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly & quarterly management accounts, including variance analysis and insightful commentary.
  • Complete quarterly VAT returns and support clients with compliance queries.
  • Assist with statutory reporting, including audit preparation and year-end financial statements.
  • Maintain accurate and timely balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring financial integrity and compliance.
  • Act as the key financial contact for assigned clients and liaise with external stakeholders such as auditors.
  • Line Management responsibility for a Finance Assistant, to include providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
