The Investment Finance- Client Financial Reporting (IFCFR) team at AIMCo is currently looking for an Analyst II to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing highly specialized financial reporting functions across a breadth and multi-layered investment pool structure for AIMCo’s clients. You will have the opportunity to provide expert guidance to internal and external clients on ongoing financial accounting reporting and statutory audits. Additionally, you will support ad hoc accounting projects and initiatives as required by Senior Leadership and the Board to deliver on the Investment Finance - Client Financial Reporting (IFCFR) team objectives.

Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct daily validations and resolve technical issues on accounting and financial reporting systems including data validation between dashboards, Simcorp Dimension (SCD), and existing internal reporting systems, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
- Analyze, investigate, and resolve complex technical issues related to accounting systems and dashboards, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain accounting reports using SQL, ensuring efficient data retrieval and integration with financial reporting systems. Optimize queries to improve report performance, accuracy, and troubleshoot any SQL-related issues impacting reporting workflows.
- Maintain and update Accounting Power BI dashboards using existing datasets, including implementing changes within designated systems as required.
- Prepare periodic and annual financial reports for clients, incorporating relevant investment-related accounting notes and disclosures.
- Ensure the effective operation of system controls to meet CSAE 3416 reporting requirements.
- Evaluate system change requests, perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and support the implementation of new processes and assigned projects.
- Recommend and contribute to improvements in standard operating procedures and policies that guide the IFCFR team’s activities.
- Respond to accounting and audit queries from internal and external clients, providing accurate and timely information.
- Perform any other assigned responsibilities linked to Business As Usual (BAU), divisional, or corporate objectives, taking ownership and ensuring timely and accurate completion.
One Year Success Measures:
- You will have developed a strong working knowledge of accounting and financial reporting systems such as SimCorp Dimension (SCD) and AIMCo’s internal reporting tools, along with proficiency in data analytics tools like SQL and Power BI to meet client reporting needs.
- You will have built and maintained strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating effective communication and collaboration skills.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Possesses a degree/diploma in Business, Accounting, Finance, Computer/Data Science, or a related field.
- Demonstrates strong academic credentials with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the financial industry and accounting reporting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A CPA or CFA designation, or actively pursuing one, would be considered an asset.
- Proficient in using SQL for database querying, with strong skills in data visualization tools like Microsoft Excel (pivot tables) and Power BI.
- Possesses a good knowledge of capital markets, investment finance, and accounting rules and guidelines, including GAAP, PASB, IFRS, and the Financial Administration Act (asset).
- Exceptional at managing rapidly changing work priorities within designated timelines and can effectively communicate verbally and in writing with clients.
- Highly resourceful, takes a collaborative approach to work, and can deliver primary assigned tasks.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to AIMCo’s core values of excellence, transparency, humility, integrity, and collaboration, and inspires the same in others. Degree/diploma in Business, Accounting, Finance, Computer/Data Science, or a related field.
