Job Description A Loan Trade Settlement or Loan Closing Client Manager leads the execution and closing of complex loan transactions, typically for syndicated or secondary loan markets. This role acts as a primary interface between clients, counterparties, and internal teams to ensure timely funding and accurate settlement. What you will do Transaction Management: Oversee end-to-end loan transaction lifecycles, including closing coordination, documentation review, and funding readiness. Client Relationship Management: Act as the primary escalation point for trade settlement issues, managing portfolios and maintaining strong relationships with external counterparties, agents and internal stakeholders. Operational Oversight: Manage and develop a team of loan analysts, ensuring settlement activities meet service level agreements (SLAs) and internal quality standards. Settlement Execution: Proactively liaise with agent banks and treasury teams to execute cash movements, payments, and trade confirmations. Compliance & Risk: Ensure all activities adhere to regulatory requirements (e.g., LSTA/LMA market standards) and internal controls, including KYC/AML verification- assisting in getting it approved asap so trades can settle without delays Reporting & Reconciliation: daily/weekly/monthly reports and recon. Trade status/position recon etc You will oversee a portfolio of trade settlement clients, ensuring accurate, timely, and high-quality service delivery in line with agreed service levels You will manage and develop a team of Loan Settlement Analysts and Senior Loan Settlement Analysts, monitoring quality, efficiency, and workload allocation You will act as the primary escalation point and subject matter expert for trade settlements, supporting teams and clients with issue resolution You will proactively liaise with clients, counterparties, agents, and treasury teams to ensure smooth settlement execution and funding readiness You will review, delegate, and sign off settlement activity, ensuring accurate system input, reporting, and month-end deliverables You will develop and enhance procedures and training materials, driving knowledge transfer, process improvement, and risk mitigation. Qualifications You have a third-level qualification in Business or a related discipline and several years’ experience in trade settlements, loan operations, or corporate lending You have strong working knowledge of trade settlement platforms and market tools such as ClearPar, Bloomberg, and loan administration systems (Allvue advantageous) You'll have experience with LSTA / LMA settlement markets (preferred) You have experience managing or supporting teams, with the ability to delegate effectively and maintain high quality standards You are highly organised with strong Excel skills and the ability to analyse, input, and validate complex financial data You are proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working under pressure to meet tight deadlines You bring excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills, with a strong commercial mindset.
