Description
About Us: We are an accounting firm based in San Francisco California co-founded by Marina Kanushkina (MBA) and Margaret Schopp (CPA-US). We serve law firms. We are 100% remote and only occasionally meet with clients in their offices. Our goal is to provide law firm partners with better data and financial insights that help them manage their practices more effectively. We strive for growth, project a 25% increase annually while simultaneously improving the client experience (happy clients mean more referrals) We are very technology forward (ChatGPT was probably used to polish up this job description) and are constantly experimenting with new systems, tools, and processes. This is an opportunity for the right candidate to grow with us, evolve in their role and take on more leadership responsibilities as we expand. About the role: We need a client-focused accountant to join our team. In this role, you’ll be the main point of contact for a portfolio of clients—answering their questions, resolving accounting issues, and ensuring accurate financials. If you love a good puzzle, excel at critical thinking, and have the ambition to grow into a leadership position, we’d love to meet you! We believe that a relationship takes me, and therefore we are looking for someone with a long-term vision, someone who is passionate about making an impact as we scale. What you'll do: Act as main point of contact in a client-facing role. Manage and support multiple assigned clients simultaneously. Promptly reply to client emails and inquiries. Handle and respond to one-off client requests, such as: Business license renewals. Workers compensation audits. Client customer history (income and profitability). Retirement strategies. Bank loan applications. Regulatory compliance. Participate in Zoom meetings with clients when needed. Ensure accurate and timely financial statements prior to client distribution. Review the work of those bookkeepers. Assign one-off tasks to the Philippine team, if appropriate. Give courteous but constructive feedback on work product to ensure high-quality and consistency across all clients. Ensure compliance with SOP's. Skills: QBO ProAdvisor Certified. Review financial statements and identify possible errors. Resolve any posing errors, adjust SOP's if appropriate. Investigate fluctuations in financial statements. Run canned Excel reports for clients. Review monthly reconciliations and resolve reconciling items. Improve processes with an eye towards effectiveness, improve controls and consistency across clients.
