Job Summary: The Mailroom Clerk will process all incoming and outgoing mail in a timely manner. Duties/Responsibilities: • Sorts and delivers incoming mail by department and/or employee to ensure timely distribution. • Inspects VAP packages for damages. • Take photos of VAP packages when customer opens the packages. • Sorts and delivers interdepartmental mail including notices and memoranda. • Picks up departmental mail. • Operates mail machines including the postage meter, photocopying machine, and mail folding and inserting machine. • Processes and weighs outgoing mail. • Maintains records of receipt, mailing dates, and other required information. • Replenishes postage on the postage meter as needed. • Stocks supplies needed for the mailroom & pick up areas. • Performs other related duties as assigned. • Receive and deliver office supplies. Required Skills/Abilities: • Good communication skills. • Basic understanding of operating instructions and processes for machines. • Basic understanding of or the ability to learn locations and organizational structure. • Basic understanding of postage rates and regulations. • Ability to correctly sort and distribute large amounts of mail and or packages. • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions. • Ability to craft a well written email. • Ability to complete projects in a timely manner. Education and Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. • Experience in a related area preferred. Physical Requirements: • Must be able to lift 30-40 pounds at times. • Must be able to traverse office facilities to pick up mail. • Able to move at a fast pace.
