Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc. is a prominent human services provider in California, offering a range of programs aimed at aiding the impoverished. The organization commits to finding long-lasting solutions to crises, empowering clients with the necessary tools and resources for enhanced self-reliance and stability. The San Pedro Region, in particular, offers necessities such as food, shelter, utilities, clothing, transportation, case management, and community resource links for homeless and low-income households.
This region oversees two homeless shelters—one for families, pregnant women, the disabled, and the elderly, and another Bridge Housing shelter for single adults. It also manages three community centers, two of which function as food pantries.
The Client Services Regional Coordinators play a vital role in bridging the gaps in services provided through the Los Angeles Regional Coordinated Entry System. They offer supportive services to families with children experiencing homelessness, focusing particularly on individuals who require intensive case management to navigate the homeless system.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
The ideal candidate must be comfortable working with multicultural ethnic groups like African Americans, Asians, and Hispanics. They must possess knowledge and experience in working with homeless individuals and be familiar with the McKinney-Vento Act. Other prerequisites include proficiency in written and oral communication, computer skills—specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Clarity, and HMIS—and an ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment. They should also be comfortable working with clients with severe and persistent mental illnesses and have knowledge of Problem Solving and Diversion techniques. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are essential.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Three to five years of related experience.
