QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Solid understanding of cause-and-effect relationships in financial markets.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data manipulation.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work with advisors, traders, developers, and accounting personnel.
  • Prior experience in client service or customer success roles.
  • Passion for learning, logic, and the financial markets.
  • Ability to teach, mentor, and support colleagues.

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of experience in the investment industry.
  • Experience as a Client Associate, Registered Representative, or Advisor Assistant.
  • Advanced degree a plus.
  • Familiarity with SQL and other data analysis tools.
  • Experience with Jira or similar ticketing systems.
  • Prior experience supporting financial advisors or working with brokerage platforms.

ABOUT THE ROLE

SMArtX Advisory Solutions is seeking a Client & Trade Support Specialist to join our Investment Operations team. This role serves as a critical liaison between our clients and internal departments, ensuring seamless communication, risk mitigation, and flawless execution of trading activities. Financial advisors using SMArtX expect best-in-class trading and customer service—this position helps us deliver exactly that.
The Trade Support Specialist complements our award-winning platform and Customer Success team by safeguarding client accounts, troubleshooting trade issues, and continuously improving processes. Accuracy, timeliness, and discernment are key to success in this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Enable and disable account trading per advisor requests.
  • Manage account activation, closure, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Act as the primary liaison between advisors, traders, and the portfolio accounting team.
  • Protect holdings to restrict unauthorized or improper trading.
  • Reconcile intraday trading at brokers and perform manual trading for equities, options, and mutual funds when necessary.
  • Monitor system checks to ensure trades execute correctly at the broker level; identify and resolve variances.
  • Take corrective action to resolve trade discrepancies with brokers.
  • Create and review reports to identify potential trading or performance issues.
  • Collaborate with the Development team to resolve technical issues and enhance trade support processes.
  • Prepare and improve documentation for SMArtX Trade Support procedures.
  • Support platform enhancements to eliminate manual workarounds.
  • Assist the implementation team with migrating existing portfolios to the SMArtX platform.
  • Resolve extraordinary trading or account maintenance circumstances.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for engineering teams.
