The Climate Action Unit leads the Mission’s work on human mobility in the context of climate change, supporting national processes such as the NAP and NDCs, strengthening institutional capacities, and generating evidence for policy development. Its operational portfolio includes climate adaptation and disaster risk reduction initiatives such as coastal early warning enhancements, rainwater harvesting, and kahriz based water security solutions, alongside broader resilience efforts in vulnerable communities. In advancing this agenda, the Mission works closely with the Government, UN partners, and development actors, and plays an active role in major climate and urban development processes, including COP29 preparations and engagement with the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), where it contributes technical inputs, coordination, and communication support.
