Program Background Climate Resilient Communities (CRC) supports implementation of the Australian Government's climate change commitments under Australia's International Development Policy, in line with partner government priorities. CRC supports the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) to increase climate investments, drive climate integration, and better address climate change and disaster risk across Australia’s development portfolio. CRC incentivises funding towards gender-responsive, inclusive climate and disaster resilience programming, particularly in the water, food, nature-based solutions, and energy sectors. For more information, please see www.dt-global.com The Role The Climate Change Specialist (Associate to the Senior Specialist) supports delivery of the Climate Resilient Communities Support Unit (CRCSU) by providing technical advice, coordination, and program management support to strengthen gender-responsive and inclusive climate and disaster resilience across Australia’s international development program. You bring deep technical expertise across climate adaptation, mitigation and disaster risk reduction, and are confident applying this knowledge to real-world programming and policy contexts. You are comfortable navigating complex donor environments such as DFAT and can quickly interpret and communicate technical information into clear, practical advice for diverse audiences. You thrive in fast-paced, client-facing roles that require responsiveness, sound judgement, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. You are a collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills, capable of building trusted relationships with stakeholders across geographically dispersed teams. You have demonstrated experience in quality assurance and are motivated to support and mentor others, contributing to a high-performing and inclusive team culture. You are a strong manager of teams and are willing to step up and act as deputy to the Senior Specialist as required.
