Description

URC is seeking a full-time, remote within Australia (Canberra preferred), Climate Resilience Specialist for an anticipated contract for establishing a Quality and Technical Assurance Group (QTAG) for the DFAT Climate Resilient Communities (CRC) Program. The Climate Resilience Specialist will lead the technical analysis of climate and disaster resilience across CRC workstreams. They will assess the quality and effectiveness of programmatic integration of climate change and disaster risk reduction and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in climate resilience, disaster risk reduction, or environmental development programming.
  • At least 3 years of MEL or evidence-based analysis in the international development sector.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of climate programming in the Indo-Pacific and DFAT’s climate integration guidelines.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, including the ability to write succinct, high-impact technical reports.
  • Experience engaging remotely with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of DFAT’s policies including:

  • Performance and Delivery Framework
  • Environmental and Social Safeguards Policy
  • International Gender Equality Strategy
  • Disability Equity and Rights Strategy
  • Excellent cross-cultural communication and research skills.
