Are you an organized and customer-focused professional looking for a new challenge in healthcare? Perhaps you are a phlebotomist looking for a change? We’re currently seeking a Clinic Administration Officer/Medical Screener to join our Parramatta Clinic (The Darug People). This is a full-time position (38 hours per week), offering a unique opportunity to manage a variety of administrative and medical screening tasks while providing excellent customer service.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently are essential for success in this role.

Ensure that all administrative tasks, patient interactions, and medical procedures are completed with precision and care, contributing to the overall success of the healthcare facility.
  • PREVIOUS MEDICAL/CLINICAL EXPERIENCE AND/OR PHLEBOTOMY EXPERIENCE WILL BE HIGHLY REGARDED, HOWEVER, ON-THE-JOB TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED TO THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATEExperience in a medical or clinical environment, particularly with phlebotomy, is beneficial but not a requirement. We are committed to providing comprehensive training to ensure the successful candidate is well-equipped to perform all aspects of the role effectively.
Responsibilities

The duties for this position encompass, but are not limited to:

  • MANAGING RECEPTION AND PERFORMING GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE TASKSGreet patients and visitors, manage incoming calls, schedule appointments, and provide general office support. Ensure a smooth and efficient front-office operation, maintaining a professional and welcoming environment.
  • COORDINATING MEDICAL BOOKINGSOrganize and confirm patient appointments for medical assessments, tests, or consultations. Manage booking systems and ensure appointments are scheduled promptly and accurately, minimizing wait times for patients.
  • HANDLING RESULTS MANAGEMENTReceive, organize, and track medical test results. Ensure results are processed and communicated to patients and healthcare providers in a timely manner, while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to privacy regulations.
  • ADMINISTERING HEALTH QUESTIONNAIRESDistribute, collect, and review patient health questionnaires to gather relevant medical history and information required for assessments. Ensure all forms are accurately completed and stored securely.
  • COLLECTING SPECIMENS, INCLUDING OVERSEEING DRUG AND ALCOHOL TESTINGOversee the collection of medical specimens (e.g., urine, blood) for analysis. Administer and supervise Drug and Alcohol Testing procedures in line with industry standards and company protocols, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Phlebotomy experience is ideal but not required.
  • PERFORMING AUDIOMETRY TESTSAdminister hearing tests using audiometric equipment to evaluate patients’ hearing levels. Record test results and assist in the interpretation of findings, referring patients to specialists if needed.
  • CARRYING OUT SPIROMETRY TESTSConduct spirometry tests to assess lung function and monitor respiratory health. Provide clear instructions to patients, accurately record test results, and ensure proper equipment maintenance.
  • PROCESSING INVOICESManage the invoicing process for medical services provided, ensuring accuracy in billing. Liaise with patients, insurance providers, or third parties to resolve any billing issues and ensure timely payments.
