Description Full-Time; M-Fri 8am-5pm History: Martin County Hospital District (MCHD) was organized in 1967 and has boundaries coterminous with Martin County, Texas. It is located in the heart of West Texas. Opened in 1949, the hospital was originally located near downtown Stanton. This facility served the community well for many years but was replaced with a state of the art 18 bed facility in 2012. The new facility is located on I20 and has been designated as a Critical Access Hospital. . SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: This professional staff person is responsible for gathering pertinent clinical information and performing assessments and treatments in the outpatient clinic/medical office setting. The Staff Nurse performs CLIA waived testing, administers medications and performs treatments as ordered by physicians and in keeping with the current clinical nursing practice. In addition, the Staff Nurse performs a range of services in a cross-functional mode to comprehensively serve patient needs for continuity of care. Such duties may include but are not limited to making referrals to outside providers, gathering reports from other facilities, and coordination of other healthcare related services. Assumes, under the direction of the Clinic Medical Director/Laboratory Director responsibility for patient specimen collecting and testing, quality control, and equipment maintenance. Requirements Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse currently licensed by the State of Texas. Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing. One-year experience as a professional Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse preferred. Current CPR/BLS certification required. Effective oral and written communication skills.
