Position Summary The Clinic Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) performing high-volume/high-quality spay and neuter surgery and all off-site vaccine and wellness clinic programming. This is a self-motivated leadership role that requires strong organizational skills, independent decision-making, and a commitment to expanding access to veterinary care in our community. Success in this position depends on excellent management skills and a collaborative approach to working within our team. The Clinic Supervisor works under the supervision of the Medical Director and collaborates closely with the Community Solutions department and Wellness Clinic Coordinator to deliver high-quality, high-volume care across all clinic programs. Schedule: Hours may vary, but the typical schedule is Monday through Friday. This position operates in alignment with the MMU and off-site clinic schedule and requires flexibility for supply drop-offs, maintenance appointments, community events, and other program needs. Compensation & Benefits: The salary range for the Clinic Supervisor is $44,000 - $48,000 annually. Key Responsibilities: MMU (Spay/Neuter) Surgery Operations Oversee all day-to-day functions of the Mobile Medical Unit, ensuring efficient and high-quality clinic operations. Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for MMU workflows, including patient intake, surgical support, discharge, and recordkeeping. Oversee onboarding and ongoing training for MMU staff and volunteers, coordinating directly with the Medical Director and RVT for veterinary medical training components. Maintain MMU inventory, including surgical supplies and medications; manage ordering and stock levels. Oversee MMU equipment function and maintenance; coordinate repair and service as needed. Ensure the MMU is clean, organized, and operationally ready at the start and end of each clinic day. Prepare the daily surgical schedule in coordination with the Medical Director and in collaboration with the surgeon; communicate changes to the clinic team. Facilitate smooth clinic flow and provide hands-on support to the team across pre-, intra-, and post-operative tasks as needed. Manage all client communication related to MMU services, including scheduling, surgical prep and post-op instructions, rechecks, and issue escalation. Serve as primary point of contact for Clinic HQ, including onboarding new clients and partners, software maintenance, and troubleshooting. Track financial assistance requests and strategically apply grant funding in coordination with the Medical Director. Maintain accurate records and complete administrative tasks including data entry, financial reconciliation, and reporting. Vaccine and Wellness Clinic Programming Oversee vaccine and wellness clinic operations, including planning, logistics, and execution. Coordinate clinic scheduling jointly with the CS Clinic Coordinator and Community Solutions department, confirming veterinarian coverage and operational capacity before dates are finalized. Secure and prepare off-site clinic locations and ensure all logistical needs are met prior to each event. Manage inventory and equipment specific to vaccine and wellness clinics. Coordinate clinical staffing for each clinic, including confirming coverage and communicating roles and expectations. Share on-site operational leadership with the CS Clinic Coordinator, serving as a key point of contact for issue resolution and escalation during clinics. Collaborate with the Community Solutions department to align clinic programming with community access-to-care goals. Support the growth and development of medical outreach programming in partnership with the Medical Director and Community Solutions. People Management Directly supervise the Surgery RVT and Surgery Veterinary Assistants (3), providing clear expectations, regular feedback, and performance support. Manage all clinic volunteers, including recruitment support, scheduling, training, and day-to-day oversight. Work collaboratively with the contract surgeon on daily clinic workflow; escalate clinical concerns and staffing issues to the Medical Director as appropriate. Foster a team culture that is mission-aligned, accountable, and supportive. Requirements 2 or more years of supervisory or management experience required. Experience in veterinary medicine or a related clinical setting strongly preferred. Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal day-to-day direction. Comfort with veterinary practice management software and general database tools; ability to troubleshoot software issues. Experience safely handling dogs and cats of unknown backgrounds in a veterinary setting. Enthusiasm for high-volume spay/neuter and community access-to-care work. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities in a fast-paced environment. This position requires the physical ability to stand and walk throughout a full workday, as well as bend, squat, and perform repetitive motions involving the legs, arms, and hands. Employees must be able to independently push up to 150 pounds and regularly carry up to 55 pounds throughout the workday. The role also requires the ability to work both indoors and outdoors. Reliable transportation is required, as occasional travel with or to the mobile clinic may be necessary.
