By The Bay Health, a non-profit established in 1975, set the standard for hospice in the U.S. by emphasizing the role of the patient in making important medical decisions. Our spectrum of home-based services now includes Skilled Home Health Care, Palliative Care, Adult Hospice Care and Pediatric Care. Our team approach strives to address practical, social, emotional and spiritual aspects of care, with the goal to maximize quality of life for our patients, caregivers and families. The Clinical & Administrative Support Intern will work under the supervision of the Project Manager under the Pathways to Careers program By the Bay Health follows all CDPH vaccine requirements for healthcare personnel. Essential Duties & Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Shadow clinical and administrative employees: Observe nurses, social workers, spiritual care counselors, home health aides, and other professionals to gain insight into patient care and team collaboration. Participate in department projects: Assist with clearly defined tasks that may include research, organizing materials, data entry, or creating educational or outreach content, depending on departmental needs. Learn about home-based care: Attend orientation and learning sessions on hospice, palliative care, and home health, including the unique challenges and rewards of delivering care at home. Engage in reflective learning: Participate in guided discussions to reflect on learning experiences and career interests. Maintain professional conduct: Demonstrate respect, confidentiality, punctuality, and a willingness to learn at all times. Skills & Qualifications: At least 16 years of age by the start of the internship. Eligible to work in the U.S. with appropriate work permit (if under 18.) Interest in healthcare careers and working with diverse communities. Responsible, curious, and open to feedback. Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen effectively, to select and use appropriate communication methods, and to present information effectively. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of the job, including displaying courtesy and sensitivity in all contacts. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Education/Experience: Completion of “Introduction to the World of Health Care” course.
