JOB SUMMARY

Reviewing electronic clinical letters, clinical e-mails, paper documentation and any other clinical correspondence.
From these you will identify relevant clinical findings and code the documents appropriately and accurately in patient medical records.

Responsibilities

· Using document management within the EMIS web clinical system, accurately code information from clinical letters.
· Scanning of patient related documentation and coding relevant information.
· Dealing with any follow up actions from the documents, such as arranging appointments or tests.
· Deal with safeguarding documentation.
· Responding to tasks sent in the clinical system.
· Process the clinical letters in accordance with the incoming post protocol.
· Liaise closely with other members of the operations and wider practice team.
· Keep up to date with regular updates and awareness of code changes.
· Have awareness of GP contract requirements.
· Provide general administrative support to the wider teams
Previous experience within a GP practice setting and an understanding of medical terminology and systems would be an advantage.
