POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Department of Counselor Education at Boise State University invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor of Counselor Education with preference for a focus on school counseling; however, we also welcome applications for those with a focus on clinical mental health or addiction counseling. The position will start in the fall semester of 2025. The faculty member will (a) teach a variety of counseling courses, including clinical courses such as practicum and/or internship; b) mentor and advise MA students; (c) provide coordination to the school cognate or (practicum; and (d) participate in service activities at the University, College, and Department level, as well as engage in community and professional service activities. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• An earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program prior to August 2025, or have been employed as a full-time faculty member in a Counselor Education program for a minimum of one full academic year before July 1, 2013
• Background in counseling (i.e., clinical experience working children, adolescents, and/or adults)
• Evidence of effective teaching in a CACREP-accredited program in Counselor Education or equivalent
• Potential as a leader and advocate within the counseling profession
• Professionalism and collegiality
• Ability to obtain entry level License as Professional Counselor (LPC) in Idaho (https://dopl.idaho.gov/cou/)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Background in school counseling
• Experience working with community partners for internship site placements
