What You Will Do Collaborates with the Interdisciplinary Team in a variety of settings, ensuring that emotional, spiritual, religious and psychosocial needs of the patient, family and or employee related to the patient’s illness are addressed. Demonstrates effective leadership in development and implementation of spiritual care program/services for Seidman Cancer Center, CMC and our community partners. Ensures effective and efficient delivery of services in order to support patients, families and staff Creates and maintains a positive work environment. Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. Education Master's Degree Divinity or in Theology (Required) or 15 years of chaplain experience (Required) Completion of 4 units (1600 hours) of Clinical Pastoral Education (Required) Ordination and Ecclesiastical Endorsement (Preferred) Work Experience 3+ years experience providing spiritual care in ministry or healthcare field (Required) Experience with end-of-life, trauma, bereavement, pediatric and adult care (Preferred) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Excellent communication skills, including public speaking. (Required proficiency) Ability to collaborate well with a variety of disciplines in a variety of settings. (Required proficiency) Ability to work closely with oncology employees to identify and respond to their needs and patient’s spiritual needs. (Required proficiency) Working knowledge of telephone and Windows Operating System.
