Description

Sharpsmart have an opportunity for an experienced visionary Clinical Commercial Director to drive performance, lead innovation, and influence commercial strategy at a national level. Reporting to the Commercial Director this role will have accountability for the Acute healthcare customer portfolio strategy across NHS and private healthcare, this role will own the growth and the retention agenda encompassing a strategic blend of key account development, customer success, and new business acquisition focusing on the clinical approach within the four walls of the healthcare facility.
The Clinical Commercial Director will play an active role in shaping Sharpsmart commercial decisions and will drive the budget for targeted annualised revenue and will be targeted on achieving realised revenue from our existing portfolio with annualised growth targets from budgeted new business. We are looking for an individual who has worked closely with clinical staff, truly understands the complex challenges within the healthcare setting and can support the team in providing solutions that solve the root cause of issues to build long lasting partnerships.

Responsibilities
  • Acute sector Customer Growth & Retention Strategy
  • Full accountability for all accounts: performance, risk management, and renewal.
  • Build structured engagement plans for top NHS and private healthcare clients.
  • Lead customer journey improvement through proactive stakeholder mapping, success planning, and issue resolution.
  • Introduce value-led account planning and insight-driven growth conversations.
  • Acute healthcare New Business Development through key relationships, utilising advocates and targeting
  • Lead team focused on opportunities across NHS Trusts and the private sector.
  • Own pipeline building, bid engagement, and mobilisation handover for opportunities.
  • Drive alignment with Commercial Support and other internal departments to ensure clinical and operational readiness for new wins.
  • Leading performance of customer-facing delivery teams across our UK regions, overseeing coaching, performance reviews, team development, and KPI management
  • Customer site Delivery Excellence
  • Marketing Integration - collaborate with the Marketing team to co-design and deliver campaigns that support retention, upsell, and new business acquisition.
  • Align brand, clinical value propositions, and stakeholder-facing materials with commercial priorities.
  • Define measurable marketing contributions to retention strategy.
