About the job
The Clinical Consultant supports service innovation and workforce development at Orygen. The role involves delivering training, supervision, and developing resources to strengthen mental health workforce capacity.

Reporting to the Director of Workforce Development and Service Implementation you will:

  • Design and deliver evidence-based training to youth mental health services, schools, and networks.
  • Contribute to innovative projects by developing resources and promoting youth and family participation.
  • Provide expert consultation and supervision to mental health practitioners, GPs, and school-based clinicians.
  • Engage in national and international collaboration, supporting project delivery and stakeholder relationships.
  • Maintain professional expertise through ongoing development and support a safe, inclusive workplace culture.

Skills and experience

The following criteria must be met for consideration for this position:

  • Tertiary qualifications in clinical psychology, occupational therapy, mental health nursing or social work and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency or AASW
  • Extensive clinical experience in youth mental health, with strong skills in assessment, intervention, and early intervention best practices.
  • Proven ability to deliver engaging training and workshops to diverse audiences, both in-person and online.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex clinical evidence into accessible content.
  • Strong knowledge of the health and education sectors, including headspace, Primary Health Networks, and school systems.
  • Highly motivated team player with great time management, relationship-building skills, and a passion for improving youth mental health outcomes.
