Responsibilities

ROLE

We’re seeking a licensed or registered clinician to provide clinical oversight, counseling, and program-wide consultation. The Clinical Consultant supervises the Lead Care Manager (LCM) team on clinical matters, leads client care team meetings, and works across all TPF programs to deliver trauma-informed, culturally responsive care. Services are provided in-person, in the community, and via telehealth.
The Clinical Consultant at The Therapeutic Play Foundation plays a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of families across all of our programs. This position is not limited to Healthcare Access, Enhanced Care Management (ECM) but extends across ArtGard, Heal LA Mobile Outreach, the Short-Term Residential Treatment Program (STRTP), and F.L.O.W.S. Wellness Labs.
As a core member of our care team, the Clinical Consultant provides counseling and guides Lead Care Managers by reviewing clinical assessments and care plans for safety and accuracy. They serve as a point of crisis intervention when needed and ensure that LCMs support clients in completing their measurement-based assessments. The Clinical Consultant also conducts Comprehensive Wellness Exams and contributes to community-based programming, outreach events, and staff development to ensure TPF delivers trauma-informed, culturally responsive care across the Greater Los Angeles area.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversight & Meetings
  • Supervise the LCM team to ensure clinical needs are addressed and supported.
  • Lead client care team meetings, facilitating case presentations and best practices.
  • Attend mandatory clinical group supervision under a licensed practitioner.
  • Review care plans and comprehensive assessments for safety, risk, and documentation accuracy.
  • Attend Mandatory assigned staff and department meetings.
  • Direct Services
  • Provide short-term and long-term counseling to children, youth, parents, and families.
  • When providing therapy, create treatment plans and maintain timely EHR documentation from onboarding to discharge.
  • Carry a small caseload for crisis support and psychoeducation.
  • Support clients in completing measurement-based care assessments (e.g., PHQ-9, GAD-7, ACEs, Blueprint tools) to track progress and regression.
  • Assist with Comprehensive Wellness Exams (CWEs) for clients experiencing high levels of mental health or somatic symptoms, supporting assessment of underlying behavioral concerns that may empower improved well-being.
  • Program & Community Support
  • Provide clinical consultation across CalAIM, ArtGard, Healthcare Access, and STRTP.
  • May support outreach events, staff trainings, or other clinical programming that align with TPF’s mission.
