ABOUT THE ROLE:

Registered Nurse Level 2 (RN2) forms a key part of direct patient care and lays the foundation of clinical leadership at North Canberra Hospital (NCH). This entails advance knowledge in the field of practice, appropriate skills and experience of team leadership. At NCH, the role of RN2 encompasses four key categories: clinical, management, education and research. RN2 is expected to excel in all four categories.
The RN2 plays a vital role in ensuring that services meet National Health and Quality Standards, improved staff performance and delivery of high quality evidence-based patient care.
The Nurse Graduate Program Clinical Development Nurse will work within the Clinical Education Team to provide education and support to the Nurse Graduates within the Nurse Graduate Program. This support includes clinical supervision, graduate support, education sessions, study day coordination and program implementation. The purpose of this role is to work in partnership with clinical teams across both North Canberra Hospital and Clare Holland House to support the transition of new nurses from student to graduate. While the Nurse graduates would be the priority for this role, the Nurse Graduate Program Clinical Development Nurse would also be required to assist with hospital wide mandatory training education.
