Description
Under the direction of the Director of Food Service or authorized designee, screens patients for nutrition problems; assesses nutrition needs; plans medical nutrition therapy with ongoing reassessment of needs; counsels patients on modified diets; evaluates and monitors patients requiring enteral and parenteral; assists with various clinical programs as well as provides nutrition education to various members of the health care team throughout the medical center. Qualifications EDUCATION:   Bachelor's or advanced degree from an accredited College in dietetics, foods, nutrition, or institutional management. Internship in hospital or other institution or other route as approved by the American Dietetic Association.   Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration required.  Licensed by the West Virginia Board of Licensed Dietitians required.     EXPERIENCE:   Knowledge of theory and practice of diets; ability to plan menus; ability to counsel patients on special diets; ability to assess and develop nutrition care plans based on understanding and knowledge of the appropriate route to feed enterally or parenterally.
