Description

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a temporary full-time Clinical Dietician. Under the direction of the Clinical Manager of Food Service, this position is responsible for coordination of nutrition care including nutrition assessment and recommendations, communication with other members of the interdisciplinary care team, monitoring implementation of the nutrition care plan, education of patients and families when determined appropriate, and documentation in the patient’s medical record. In addition, this position will attend regular rounding on assigned units, serve on quality improvement committees as needed and participate in the mentorship of clinical interns. This position requires a weekend rotation based on staffing levels. Qualifications Education: * Bachelor's degree is required * Master's degree is required *Beginning January 1, 2024 a Master’s Degree is the minimum degree requirement for those seeking eligibility for the registration examination for dietitians. Those who received registration status prior to 2024 are grandfathered in under prior regulations. * Registered Dietitian is required * Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is required * Licensed Dietitian by the State of West Virginia is required * Food handling certificate recognized by the Cabell County Health Department upon employment and updated as required by county mandate is required RDE (Registered Dietitian Eligible) eligible candidates may be hired if they have an active provisional license from the West Virginia Board of Licensed Dietitians. RDE applicants must pass their board exam within six months of hire. Experience: * No Previous Experience is Required * 1 to 2 Years of Position-Related Experience is preferred The kind of position-related experience includes: Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

The role also includes educating patients and families, attending regular rounding on assigned units, and participating in quality improvement committees.
