Nationally Recognized: Our hospital has been ranked in the Top 10% nationally for rehabilitative care for 6 years and has earned The Joint Commission’s Advanced Stroke Certification. At our 40-bed hospital, we provide specialized inpatient and outpatient rehabilitative services to our patients, serving Lafayette and the surrounding communities. We see patients who often are recovering from disabilities caused by injuries, illnesses, or chronic medical conditions.
We are seeking a Clinical Dietitian to join our dynamic team and support the nutritional needs of patients in our inpatient rehabilitation setting. The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing medical nutrition therapy for patients with complex medical conditions. You will work closely with physicians, nurses, therapists, and case managers to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Current Dietitian license required or certified by the Commission on Dietetics, as required by state.
  • One year of experience in the care of patients in hospital setting preferred.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • Demonstrates an understanding of treatment costs and financial support as they relate to quality and efficiency
  • Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures.
  • Demonstrates general computer skills including: data entry, word processing, email, and record management.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work closely and professionally with others.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
  • Ability to utilize the appropriate leadership skills in delegating, organizing, and educating coworkers and staff.

  • Assess patients’ nutritional status through clinical data, medical history, and physical examination.
  • Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans in accordance with physician orders and patient goals.
  • Monitor patients’ progress and adjust care plans as needed.
  • Provide nutrition education to patients, caregivers, and staff.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team rounds and discharge planning.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and evidence-based practices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
